Today, October 21, 2026, shortly before 4:00 p.m. CEST (2:00 p.m. UTC), the PHP Core Team released information about a particularly critical security vulnerability along with the corresponding patch.
We notified our customers via email and here on this website.
By 4:10 p.m. on October 21, most of our systems had already been patched - that is, updated with the security patch.
Starting at noon that day, we took measures via configurations and web firewall rules that, while partially affecting the functionality of the services, secured the server systems accordingly.
In addition, an emergency shutdown of all server systems was planned accordingly and communicated to you, our valued customers, via email and on this website as a “last resort” or “ultima ratio.”
Fortunately, such a shutdown was not necessary.
Minor restrictions will continue for some time, but we will work to resolve them as soon as possible, depending on how the current situation evolves.
