Dear cold callers, also from neighbouring Germany:
Cold calling is prohibited in Austria and can result in fines of up to € 37,000.
"The Telecommunications Act 2003 (TKG) already prohibits the calling of persons for advertising purposes without their prior consent in the original version of Section 107 (1). With Federal Law Gazette I No. 23/2011, a new Para. 1a was added, which also prohibits the suppression or falsification of the caller ID by the caller in the case of telephone calls for advertising purposes. A violation of these provisions can be punished with a fine of up to € 37,000 in accordance with § 109 para. 3 no. 19a.", quote from Wolfgang Höglinger, Manz (see link below).
